Steel wire strands and fiber poles make up the rest of the support structure and they do a good job of keeping the shape.  Because it’s collapsible the poles fold down easily when you are ready to store the carrier.  Durable mesh panels allow plenty of light and air to reach your pet while being strong enough to withstand any scratching or tearing that might happen.  There are two point of easy access that work well.  The top load opens quite wide to allow you to gently set your cat or kitten into the carrier.  You can also use the end panel if your cat will walk into the carrier, it opens flat for easy access.

This is a big unit and is not meant for small spaces.  You will want to attach it to a wall for the best support.  It’s also heavy, it weighs over 60 pounds.  It is a piece of furniture and will overwhelm a small space.

That said, if you have large cats this is an excellent cat tree.  It is more expensive than smaller condos but it will work well with three to four cats and is excellent for large cats.  It’s well made and is worth the money if you need something for a larger cat.
