Steel wire strands and fiber poles make up the rest of the support structure and they do a good job of keeping the shape.  Because it’s collapsible the poles fold down easily when you are ready to store the carrier.  Durable mesh panels allow plenty of light and air to reach your pet while being strong enough to withstand any scratching or tearing that might happen.  There are two point of easy access that work well.  The top load opens quite wide to allow you to gently set your cat or kitten into the carrier.  You can also use the end panel if your cat will walk into the carrier, it opens flat for easy access.

Durable And Value Prices

A Good Cat Carrier But…

You need to remember that this is a carrier for small cats.  A 15 pound cat won’t do well at all in this tote and you shouldn’t even try to make that work.  Also, it is quite simple in design, meaning that there aren’t storage pockets, food bowls and wheels.  When you are traveling you will have to have another bag for all of the assorted pet toys and food items that you will need.  However, for basic traveling from point A to point B with a small cat, this is a really good, inexpensive cat carrier to consider.

A Few Points To Consider

While this is a very good cat carrier for large cats, there are a few drawbacks that you should consider before buying.  The unit is made for bigger pets, meaning that it is a bigger carrier.  If you plan on traveling on an airplane you may find this is too big to put under the seat in coach.  It meets most TSA requirements but it is a good sized carrier.

Prutapet calls this a collapsible carrier but it doesn’t quite collapse flat when you are storing it.  It will take up more closet space than a truly collapsible unit.  It comes with well padded shoulder straps but its size means that it will hang lower and be heavier than other carriers.

Yes, if you have a large cat (or two medium sized cats) that you need to transport in your car regularly.  Trips to the vet are so much easier with this carrier than with other, smaller models.  If you don’t have larger cats and you don’t travel with them, you can probable save some money and buy a smaller, more portable tote.

Any Negatives To This Cat Carrier?

While this is a tremendous value and we highly recommend this pet carrier, there are a few drawbacks that you will want to consider.  Even though there are two sizes available, this is not a good carrier for a large pet.  Most cats, except for those over 20 pounds, will probably fit fine but dogs might be a different story.  Pay attention to your pet’s size before you buy.

Taking the wool covering off of the bottom mat to clean it can be tricky.  Washing can cause it to shrink and there can be a struggle putting the covering back on the mat.  Some users have complained that the mesh panels can tear but others have reported that they have stood up to the most determined cats.

A good cat carrier can be costly.  Some will run over $100 and will be heavy and awkward.  If you are looking for a well priced, light weight carrier you should consider this unit.  It is a very good value and will keep your pet safe and comfortable.
